About Terminations
Terminations and splices restore the electric field control and insulation in medium voltage cable connections, preventing partial discharges and failures. The heat shrink technology uses controlled heating; the cold shrink dispenses with flame; the polymeric offers fast assembly.
Specify by the voltage class and the cable cross-section (mm²), in addition to indoor or outdoor use. They follow IEC 60502.
Frequently asked questions
Heat shrink or cold shrink?
Cold shrink is faster and dispenses with flame; heat shrink is robust and traditional. Both meet 15 to 36 kV.
How to choose the cross-section?
The termination/splice must be compatible with the gauge (mm²) and the cable class — confirm both data.
