Fuses

Medium voltage fuses — HH type current-limiting and expulsion types — for protection of transformers, motors and capacitors.

About Fuses

The HH fuse (current-limiting, high rupturing capacity) interrupts short-circuits in milliseconds, limiting the peak and the let-through energy (I²t) that reaches the protected equipment. The internal silica sand extinguishes the arc without releasing gases. They comply with IEC 60282-1.

Sizing depends on the transformer/load power and the voltage class. Pay attention to the size (e.g., U6) and the rated current.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between HH and expulsion?

The HH is current-limiting (internal, substations), very fast; the expulsion type is used in overhead network fuse cutouts.

How to size the fuse current?

Based on the rated current of the transformer/load and the inrush currents. Calculation in the project is recommended.
